HyperMedia was founded in 1999 with 3 staff members working on one store, a few hundred trolleys and a few security gates branding. In 2001, HyperMedia went national and expanded the operation to include more than 30 hypermarkets in 4 major emirates Dubai, Abudhabi, Sharjah and Al Ain, the first ever in-store media company was officially born . Our operation expanded organically with double digit growth year on year. Our expansion was both vertical and horizontal. Our horizontal growth included the aggressive expansion in our network coverage of the leading hypermarkets, now more than 110 retail branches in the UAE alone. As for our vertical growth, it included a full bouquet of media products that targeted every point of the path to purchase. In addition our range of in-house services improved with our growth and included production of the advertising material as well as the maintenance of all types of media assets in our network of stores. In 2005, we acquired our first outdoor product with more than 500 lamp-post panels scattered around the busiest parking lots and main entrances of major community centers across the UAE. In 2008 and 2009 was a milestone in our expansion when we acquired several large projects such as Virgin Mega Stores, Emaar Malls group and the Hajj Terminal in Jeddah, to become one of the largest OOH media companies in the UAE. Also, our geographic regional expansion in-store included most of the GCC countries. In 2009, HyperMedia joined forces with one of the leading media groups in the Middle East Rotana Media Services to become one of the largest OOH media company in the region. Solid growth continued In 2010, by adding Abraj al Bait Mall to our projects in addition to TECOM outdoor in 2011.
In 2013, HyperMedia’s turn-over well exceeded the 100 million mark and the first ever Nationwide Malls Network was launched end of the year.In 2016, HyperMedia continued to expand across the UAE, by adding 4 malls making it 25 malls in total in HyperMedia’s digital network portfolio now. HyperMedia pioneers real time broadcast reporting systems across their 1016 digital screens and it engages consumers with news, sport, fashion and entertainment updates. HyperMedia successfully now has the largest digital nationwide mall network in the UAE, reaching 30 best malls and 361 million shoppers.
In January 2019, HyperMedia launched several large-format LED digital outdoor screens across the UAE, one of which is the largest digital screen 44m by 14m to target and reach out mass audience. HyperMedia’s defined strategy for the future is to be the leading Digital Out of Home company with various more projects to be launched.
